The Incorporated Endless Sofa redefines the modular sofa. The self-contained, functional parts of a traditional modular seating system have been divided at a small scale to render each partition functionless apart from its placement within the structure of the sofa. Each module is a slice of the whole, a vertical segment of sofa five inches in width.
A limitless series of slices may be combined, allowing the sofa to reach, in theory, an infinite length. Flaps at the joint between autonomous segments conceal the zipper, which terminates behind the sofa, out of the sitter’s view. While the internal segments are identical, their joined structure is finished at each end by two larger segments that provide an armrest, enclosing the potentially endless object.
