Scuba lounge by Brodie Neill
Gliding up from the ground is the striking form of Scuba, the alluring new lounge design by a 29-year-old Australian, Brodie Neill, for Italian Domodinamica.
Merging gentle curves and elegant undulations, Scuba is a smooth flowing lounge-scape for both domestic and commercial use. Brodie Neill has extended his prolific form language to include the dual sided structure, rolling and wrapping to provide both form and function.

With sweeping lines that take inspiration from the aerodynamics of high performance sports cars, Scuba displays a still sense of movement as its contours flow between seat and structure. The freestanding form creates a truly 3 dimensional power piece with visually dynamic configurations from all angles.

The name Scuba refers to the underwater adventure where many graceful species can be witnessed drifting the seas with ease and elegance. The elevated seat spanning over 2 meters is fringed with the sweeping sides reaching down to the floor like the wings of a manta ray.

Scuba’s self supporting strength is achieved through the ever-undulating curve, bending and coving to provide structure within a 3-dimensional curvilinear surface. The raised backrest maintains overall rigidity with its concaved cross-section that slowly opens as the swooping lines skim to the floor.

Scuba comes skinned with the finest upholstery leathers and the GRP substructure finished with polished lacquer in a matching color, or as a super sleek monocoque model finished entirely in coloured gloss lacquer.
