Lightpot micro gardens by Studio Shulab
by ninja_pawn, Saturday, June 20th, 2009
Kfir Schwalb and Orit Magia of Studio Shulab take home gardening to a whole new level with their Lightpot concept. Follow the jump to see how.

The micro gardens allow growing plants and herbs inside your home regardless of the lighting conditions via the LED lamp hidden in the upper half of the pots.

I never said plants don’t need oxygen; however, they don’t actually take in oxygen, they get it from the CO2 from the atmosphere and water in the soil/dirt, which they break down to create tissues/sugars/etc. Oxygen is a byproduct of the breakdown H2O, which is used for the oxidation of food molecules and — yadda yadda yadda

I’m not sure closing the pots would be such a good idea. As far as I know, plants need oxygen too.
Actually, plants need carbon dioxide. and I think the only reason one would completely close it is maybe for storage (while not trying to grow anything, of course) or even transport; otherwise, I think the adjustable top was meant to accommodate plant height.

Actually, no. Plants do need oxygen. Google up.
