Grande Papilio chair by Naoto Fukasawa | Minimalist Industrial design | FurnitureThe first thing one easily notices about Naoto Fukasawa’s Grande Papilio and Awa designs for B&B Italia is that each of the objects appears as a single form made of a single material.

This is partially true. Although the fluid minimalist shape of the Grande Papilio armchair with its large headrest was carved out of the trunk of a single upside-down cone, it does contain an additional component: the swivel chair base which provides a 360° view of the room.

Awa’s form, on the other hand, has no additional elements and just like the Link table by Jakob Wagner we saw last week, is made of pure white Cristalplant.
