Folded house by x architekten
This amazing house in Wienerwald in Lower Austria was designed by x architeckten, a Linz and Vienna based architecture studio, for a customer in need of a modern residence that can communicate with its rural surroundings, and provide an open living space interior with a light and sunny living atmosphere.

The serpentine form of the building gives the impression of providing more space and enables the residents to use the roof, which wraps around the house, as a walkway and access the garden from any room or level. The garden, attic, bedrooms and living rooms are intertwined.

Furthermore, the residents can enjoy the surrounding hilly and wooded landscape through the room-high windows to the south. A protecting wall on the north side completes the folding of the room.
