Haptech kitchen looks sleek, won’t teach you how to cook
As you may already know, we haven’t written much about kitchens up until now, which is not very nice of us. Therefore, we’d like you to meet the Danish star designer John Sebastian and Haptech, an innovative kitchen concept using DuPont‚Ñ¢ Corian¬Æ and DuPont‚Ñ¢ Zodiaq¬Æ.
Realizing John Sebastian’s ideas regarding the form of Haptech’s main body was made possible thanks to the design flexibility of DuPont‚Ñ¢ Corian¬Æ, a material that has been used by many well-known architects and designers for over 40 years, because of its durability, adaptable nature and soft aesthetics.

The contrast was achieved through the cool, black and smooth DuPont™ Zodiaq®, a high-performance, decorative surface material used for the work surface and presented in public for the very first time in Sweden at this year’s furniture fair. It combines the strength, beauty and rawness of natural quartz with a superior smoothness in its structure and tone.

For the creation of Haptech, I investigated how people relate to kitchens and orientate themselves in them. The need to create sense and meaning in our surroundings leads to reflection on how one behaves in different rooms, and I wanted this kitchen to be in line with human behavior, explains John Sebastian.

The room in the last image looks like an office. Now, who would want a kitchen in his office?
