SIDM09: K. Rashid, Porsche Design, Veuve Clicquot
It’s not like we’re such huge fans of Veuve Clicquot, but it was the likes of Karim Rashid and Porsche Design that got our attention here. The yellow edition of Rashid’s Globalight, both a futuristic sculpture and a wine cooler, reinvents romantic candle light dinners thanks to the non-heating LED lights and concealed mirrors in the cooler’s walls. Porsche Design’s Ice Cube, on the other hand, with a clear visual reference to the colorful designs of the 60s and the 70s, is a champagne bucket we wouldn’t mind taking on a picnic, knowing it would look just as cool.
