SIDM09: Chairs for the dysfunctional by Alice Wang

You’ve got to love this. Chairs for the dysfunctional is a series of, well, chairs for the people with unusual sitting habits. The first one, pictured above, called Equality Seeker, is aimed at making the life of short people easier, by letting them customize the sitting height.

Status Anouncer, on the other hand, is there to help those who have lost the ability to speak or interact with others due to the nasty habit of communicating and publishing their personal life mostly through popular social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter. The chair comes with status labels, letting you update your “profile status” they way you do in online social communities.

The last design, Constant Shaker, calculates the calories burnt by fidgeting or shaking one’s leg while sitting. Sheer brilliance.
